Yep, that was me this week, clinging to Jesus the Rock while I was hit with the flu, people who hated me, F's for missing work, and friends who thought that their pathetic, kindergarten-sized problems were more important than my big problems.
And, maybe, they were (if you think that love is more life-threatening than a possibility of H1N1 and strep throat and stomach virus and... you get the picture right?)
I've been praying a bit about getting well, and my family has been praying for me and my brothers a great deal also. But who knew what God would do with those prayers? No one at the time, but we found out on Wednesday, November 18, 2009.
My mom, my brothers, and I went to the doctor's office to get checked out and see what was up. We told our doctor all of our symptoms and then we were told that it was the flu (no duh). She said that we had to get a white blood count to see if we would need the flu shot and antibiotics. So we get our pinch shot and a blood sample taken from each of us and...
the result was a miracle! We had nearly PERFECT blood count and thus did not need the shot or the medicine.
So now we're walking out out of the room and my mom is stopping at the front desk and pulling out her wallet to give three co-pays. That's when the receptionist said, "Mrs. Baker, you have $90 dollars credit in your account... would you like to use that instead?" My mom came to a dead halt and then said "Thank you, God" about ten times! It turns out that $90 was exactly the amount needed for the co-pay and now we were walking out of the office with nothing to worry about, except a bit of recovery. Now all I can say is...
THANK GOD!!!!!!!!
